The underground: a real jungle ^^

    
    







                    Yes I said a JUNGLE !!! 

    










     Really, it's a very huge and popular place when there is always people ! If you want to be closer with people and give them some hugs during the rush hours, if you want to smell perfumes ( which is not all the time a good point, believe me !) and if you want to hear a lot of different styles of music from ipods, the place where you need to be is.......
                         THE UNDERGROUND !

     I'm not joking ! It's really like that. I know that some people are thinking that it's the same as Paris but it's not! First of all, the time separating two stations is maybe 2 or 3 times more longer than in Paris, so your nightmare is 2 or 3 times more longer !! Then, London is the equivalent of 2 Paris, so there are people, a lot of people... !

     So, when you want to go to your office, you need to do the same every morning: fighting !
Because if you want to be on time you need to be awake and ready to get on the train! People are not really ready to let you enter on the train and you need to push them a lot if you want to get this train and not wait for the next !






     And the last thing about this jungle is a little story which happened to me. Just for your information, I m living on Bethnal Green and I need to go to Canada Water so it means I need to do that every morning and every evening:
- take the Central Line from Bethnal Green to Bank
- change for the Northern Line to Liverpool Street
- and take the Jubilee Line to Canada Water !






     And one day, I was at bank and I was supposed to wait a lot for taking the Northern Line and I was suspected something. The underground services announced that the jubilee line is going to be close but they didn't explain why. Few minutes later, they just apologized for the delay... We were immobilized during 10 minutes and after an alarm rang and a message was delivered on the microphones:
"emergency, emergency please go out !!!"

   So some people tried to run but we were too many so there was no possibility to run. And they just announced that "if you see any black bag medium size, please contact our staff!

   Then, I took me maybe about 5 minutes to be outside and I asked a man in charge of giving information to customers and he just explained that it was for a bomb alert and that it will be finish very soon.. that it was just a verification. And I was forced to wait 30 minutes outside because my lines was closed !
It was a little impressive because it reminded people the bomb attacks in London of the 21st of July 2005... and a friend told me after that one of the bomb attacks of 2005 exposed on this underground station, at Bank...

So in a word, the underground is a very important part of London and even if there are some problems with lines for example, I just want to point out that it's one of the best supervised places where I had never been...

And don't forget that:
"Please mind the gap between the train and the platform..."

     Oui, j’ai bien dit la JUNGLE !!! C’est vraiment une énorme et célèbre place de Londres où il y a toujours du monde! Donc si vous voulez être près des gens et leur faire des câlins pendant les heures de pointe, si vous voulez sentir des parfums (ce qui n’est pas toujours un point positif, croyez moi !) et si vous voulez écouter différents types de musiques en provenance d’Ipods, le lieu où vous vous devez d’être est………. le METRO !

     Et je ne mens pas ! Ca se passe vraiment comme ca ! Je sais que certains d’entre vous vont pensez que c’est la même chose à Paris mais ce n’est pas le cas. Tout d’abord, la distance séparant 2 stations est 2 à 3fois plus grande qu’à Paris ce qui signifie que votre cauchemar dure 2 à 3fois plus longtemps qu’à Paris. De plus, Londres est une ville 2 fois plus grande que Paris donc il y a du monde, beaucoup de monde !!!

     Donc quand vous voulez aller au travail, vous devez tous les matins faire la même chose: combattre !

Parce que si vous souhaitez être à l’heure à votre bureau, vous vous devez d’être réveillé et prêt à l’attaque pour pouvoir monter dans un métro ! En effet, les gens ne sont pas particulièrement prêts à vous faire de la place pour rentrer dans la rame donc vous devez les pousser afin de vous retrouvez coller à la porte et non pas en train d’attendre le prochain métro !

     Et l’autre chose en ce qui concerne cette jungle est la petite anecdote qui m’est arrivée.Pour suivre l’histoire, il faut savoir l’itinéraire que j’emprunte pour aller au travail tous les matins et tous les soirs pour aller de Bethnal Green à Canada Water:

- je dois prendre la “Central Line” de Bethnal Green jusqu’à Bank

- puis prendre la Northern Line jusqu’à Liverpool Street

- et prendre la Jubilee Line jusqu’à Canda Water !

     Un jour, j’étais à la station Bank et j’étais supposée attendre le métro de la Northern Line et quelque chose n’était pas normal. Les services ont annoncé que la Jubilee Line serait fermée à partir de cet instant mais n’ont divulgué aucune explication. Ils se sont juste contentés de s’excuser pour le retard. Nous sommes restés immobilisés pendant une dizaine de minutes jusqu’à ce qu’une alerte se déclenche et qu’un message soit diffusé dans les microphones de la station:

“Alerte, alerte , veuillez sortir de la station “

     Certaines personnes ont alors essayé de courir mais il y a avait beaucoup trop de monde donc il n’était pas possible de courir. Ils ont alors annoncé:

“ Si vous apercevez un sac de couleur noire et de taille moyenne veuillez nous le signaler s’il vous plait”

     Cela m’a pris environ 5minutes pour sortir de la station et j’ai alors pu demander à un homme appartenant au personnel ce qu’il se passait et j’ai pu entendre qu’il parlait d’une alerte à la bombe et que cela serait régler bientôt car il s’agissait d’une simple vérification. J’ai donc été obligée de patienter dehors 30minutes car mes lignes de métro étaient fermées.

C’était assez impressionnant car cela rappelait aux gens les attentats du 21 Juillet 2005 à Londres… et un ami m’a appris plus tard qu’une des bombes de l’attentat de 2005 avait explosé à cette station de métro, à Bank…

     En un mot, le métro concerne une partie très importante dans l’environnement londonien et même si il y a quelques problèmes avec certaines lignes notamment, je voudrais mettre en avant le fait qu’il s’agit d’un des endroits les plus surveillé où je ne suis jamais allée.
